DESCRIPTION:
Presented by the Cultural Center of the Philippines in cooperation with Samahang Tagapagtaguyod ng Katutubong Sayaw ng Pilipinas, the festival is a grand gathering of the major and university-based folk dance troupes in the Philippines. This festivity highlights the commemoration of the 118th birthday celebration of Francisca Reyes-Aquino, the first National Artist for Dance and considered the Mother of Philippine Folk Dance. Also to be showcased are the works of Dr. Lucrecia Reyes-Urtula (1988 National Artist for Dance) and Ramon Arevalo Obusan (2006 National Artist for Dance).
