Outstanding young pianist Oliver Salonga returns to the CCP stage after his successful performance in the 2016 CCP Special Concert Series. The young virtuoso will perform pieces by Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Ravel and Barber. Praised for his emotional energy, melting lyricism and technical brilliance, Oliver Salonga has enthralled music aficionados in various international concert halls as well as in the Philippines.


At a very young age, he has demonstrated an outstanding ability to communicate with audiences on a deeply personal level that made him one of the most exciting pianists of his generation. Music critic Rosalinda Orosa said of Salonga in one of his acclaimed concerts: “Throughout the program, Oliver Salonga evoked beautiful tonal colors, demonstrated an artistic temperament, a startling technique combined with expressivity, all of which electrified.”

Praised for his emotional energy and technical brilliance, Oliver Salonga has enthralled music aficionados in the concert halls of the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Philippines, Australia, and China. He gained national recognition after winning first prizes in the National Music Competition for Young Artist twice in a row in 1998 and 2001. He graduated from the Philippine High School for the Arts with High Honors and as Outstanding Graduate Artist in Music in 2003.
