The SPECIAL CONCERT SERIES features outstanding young Filipino artists in solo concerts. It highlights local and international prize winners in vocal and instrumental music and artists with performing careers abroad. The program seeks to get the general public and the youth to watch and appreciate classical music and be exposed to dynamic young Filipino artists who are making a mark on the classical music scene. Pianist with “a biting rhythmic drive,” Clement Acevedo has performed in China, the Philippines, and the United States. First Prize Winner of the 2004 National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA), Piano Category C, as well as a semi-finalist in the 2009 Heida Hermanns International Piano Competition, he has appeared as soloist in orchestras here and abroad. An enthusiastic chamber musician, he has been invited to perform in professional music festivals in and outside the country. Don’t miss the concert of this superb pianist!

After a period of more than 20 years, a solo harp concert by a Filipino harpist will take place. Jane Banta finished her Master of Music degree in Harp Performance in 2017 after a two-year program at the State University of New York as a recipient of the Len and Carole Faulk Scholarship. She actively performs as a harpist for symphony orchestras, chamber orchestras and wind and other ensembles. She is most seen regularly playing the harp as a program musician of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.  Be part Jane’s solo concert at the CCP!

Praised for his beautiful lyric voice with agility and color, capable of conveying a broad range of characters. Described as singing “superbly with beautiful legato, a regal tenor,” Mr. Espiritu has been steadily establishing himself as an accomplished Bel canto tenor and has had success with the lyric tenor repertoire as well. He has portrayed a wide array of leading tenor roles in the most prestigious opera houses in different parts of the world. His solo concert at the CCP is a must-see!
