 The Cultural Center of the Philippines in cooperation with Caruso Ristorante presents Italian soprano Elena Monti in an evening of classical vocal music, with tenor Ronan Ferrer and pianist Raul Sunico, under the baton of Maestro Ruggero Barbieri.




Born in Milan, Elena Monti graduated at her hometown’s School of Music with top score and special

mention. She later won several Competitions, in Italy and abroad and she made her debut in Milan in Mozart’s Exultate Jubilate and Rossini’s Petite messe solemnelle, and sang in a new production of Falstaff with Aslico.


She won the selections for the Scala Singing Academy, where she took part in Zauberflöte, L’Elisir d’Amore in the role of Adina;  Armide directed by M° Muti in an Easter concert; and Giulio Sabino of Sarti at Ravenna Festival.


She debuted in the most prestigious Italian and international theaters. The varied roles she sang include Mimì in La Bohéme, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, among others. She also performed in Haendel’s Partenope, Haydn’s Orlando PaladinoA Midsummer Night’s Dream and  Peer Gynt Maestro Roberto Abbado.


In 2010 she opened the season at San Carlo Theatre in Naples in La Clemenza di Tito under the baton of Jeffrey Tate and the direction of Luca Ronconi. She also recently performed in concerts in Tokyo, at Teatro Real in Madrid and she debuted the role of Violetta in La Traviata at Teatro la Fenice in Venice.


She also enjoys a prolific concert activity, including Mozart’s Requiem, Brahms’s Ein Deutsches Requiem, Mozart’s Konzertarien in Jerusalem and Graz, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Mahler’s IV Symphony in Trieste, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Bach’s Magnificat and Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis in Malaga, Milan and Parma for the opening of Verdi Festival.


She debuted in Stresa in Bachianas Brasileiras with Enrico Dindo and she sang Messiah directed by M° Aldo Ceccato at Dal Verme Theater in Milan, Ein Deutsches Requiem in Malaga, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in Strasburg conducted by Rinaldo Alessandrini and concerts in Paris with Christophe Coin for Radio France.


She has worked with various conductors such as Gerd Albrecht, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Aldo Ceccato, Ottavio Dantone, Djasung Kakhidze, Riccardo Muti, Jeffrey Tate,Nello Santi, Robin Ticciati, Diego Matheuz,Massimo Zanetti among others.
